This is our first new apartment together so I’m super excited to decorate it. I thought that we were too old to buy Ikea furniture but when I got their recent catalog, I was surprised at how many nice things they have! Seriously how can they sell things for so cheap? We’re definitely going to have to make a trek out to one.
Maybe buy some of these kitchen wall organizers to put above the stove. I think the metal looks a lot cleaner.

i have a version of the metal one that i love in my kitchen. i think ikea stuff is cheap cuz of the level of home assembly that’s required. we have a huge bookcase that looks really nice but it took forever to put together!!
just buy those hanging shelves from ikea. all of the drawers or anything else that’s big isnt worth it. IKEA is great “starting out” furniture – but it really does break after a year of use. but shelving is great there.
i like the metal one… my only question is how do you nail through tile without cracking it? hmm…
i love the wall organizers… my only concern would be that the pots/pans would get dusty…
I like the metal racks on the side, and they can do double duty too – you can use the little S things on the left to hang under those too!
I’m also thinking of furniture… it’s so expensive. I really want to get this bed b/c it’s not wood, and thus, I dont’ have to match the dressers, and it won’t look bad with different kinds of woods. http://www.roomandboard.com/rnb/coll.do?coll=RB3036&dept=RB121
What do you think of that? Since it’s so expensive, I told my bf he can’t gain any weight, b/c we’ll never upgrade to a king.

I have the black ones. I love them! We mainly use them to display our nice spices and olive oils. We also use the extra S hangers to hang pots to dry. They definitely are a great way to save counter space and it gives the kitchen more character.
IKEA lower end stuff is pretty fragile, but when u start looking at their higher end stuff in the catalog, it is actually decent for the price especially. i used to think no no no never IKEA, i’m not in college anymore etc etc… but it’s not like that so much these days.
all the stuff in my apt right now is from ikea. they were so cheap to buy but the bad thing is they’re extremely fragile and you have to be gentle w/them or else they fall apart. but i think if you look for more high quality items, you should have no problem buying things from there. actually, i love ikea b/c their pieces are so clean and modern.
We just bought a whole lot of stuff from Ikea for our temporary home after seeing their catalogue too. It is cheap but it also says something about the quality. The hubby already broke one of the drawers while assembling them.
