I was considering getting this Taka Trunk from Crate and Barrel ($499) because we really need a lot of storage solutions, but thought it might be too overwhelming of a piece for our small living room.
Tons of storage space inside. We could put remotes into that little drawer on the bottom.
Target is having a huge free shipping sale so I’ve been browsing the site. They actually have a lot of nice furniture pieces. I’d like to get a coffee table that has some storage space in it.
This Havana Coffee Table is only $179.99.
Foldout Coffee Table – $199.99. Could foldup to a side table even.
Apothecary Cocktail Table – $149.99. This would be nicer in a darker color.
I’d like to get a little island like this for more counter space. White Cart with Granite Top – $259.99
We have to buy a sofa, living room rug, tv stand, desk, custom shelves, bed… so much to do!

i love that trunk! but it does seem big. a problem to move, too, probably. Bah to small spaces even though i prefer to live in smaller places as opposed to large airy ones.
i like the havana coffee table the best. it seems like a good size and its cute. i dont like the trunk because it looks very bulky and i think it will look a bit odd taking up so much space in your apt. i think proporationally, it wont look right in a small apt, and trust me, proportions matter alot when it comes to home decorating because ive been to so many open houses for new home models. even though a furniture might look great alone, if placed in a space too small, it wont look right at all. gluck w/furniture shopping!
i like the havana coffee table b/c you can hide magazines, remotes, keys, other junk in the drawers. Target is the bomb.
furnishing a room can be fun, but it can get so pricey~ I agree the first trunk might be a bit heavy for a small place….
that trunk is huge but 500!!!

I’m strange, I like more cultural looking pieces like I have a Chinese heirloom chest in my bedroom, it was my folks but I’ve always wanted one of those and I ended up getting my parents one.
