  • I got this in my dailycandy today…

    Flat-Rate Cleaners is:

…the online dry cleaning and laundry service for “busy” New Yorkers like yourself.  Just open up your laptop. Choose a pick-up time for the items you want cleaned. Pay online. Then roll back onto your stomach and resume your snooze.

Flat Rate gets its name from — you guessed it — the flat $4.99 rate charged per item dry cleaned (be it pants, dress, or coat). Men’s laundered shirts cost just under two bucks a pop, and wash-and-fold laundry is priced by the bag (not the pound).

If something isn’t cleaned to your satisfaction, Flat Rate will reclean it for free. And turnaround is pretty quick (two days).

That’s pretty darn cheap (my local dry cleaners are kinda expensive) and they do laundry too!  Maybe I’ll give them a try.  Can you tell I’m obsessed with laundry?

  • how much is dry cleaning in nyc usually?  i try to get mine done in maryland (send down with parents) at this chain that dry cleans per item for $1.85!  they do a pretty good job too.  i wish they had one near here.

  • if you’re not talking about dry cleaners, apt rents, train commute tactics you’re not a NYer… you’ve come a long way since you once said you liked NY but could never live there. =) awesome…
