  •  Ahhh!!!!  I have so many things I want to blog about but I’m so busy!  My parents are coming to visit this weekend and the apartment is still in shambles.

We NEED to get a loft bed for the storage space.

Check out this ultra cool loft from Compact-Living.

Sure I’d be scared of it falling and me and Mr. Bee dying, but when it looks this cool who cares?  Unfortunately it’s made by a Swedish company (first Ikea and now this?  Those Swedes are good!).

Most likely we’ll have to get something custom made… but I’m thinking not as high as a traditional loft bed.

  • and i thought the top bunk of bunk beds were scary hahahaha

  • i wonder what the weight capacity is on that sucker.

  • that’s cool~  getting out of bed in the morning would kinda suck though.  I’m one of those people who can’t function properly upon first waking up so that would be a disaster waiting to happen for me…. I have a hard enough time with my stairs just cause the steps are a bit steeper than normal steps and part of it has no railing. -_-

  • i love that look!! but some beams from the loft to the ground woudl make it look sturdier..

  • oh that’s so cool!

  • i would totally fall on my head.

  • i think i’d fall out of bed, forgetting it was so high!

  • My kids sleep up like that and they both tired of it…
It’s like being suspended all night. no grounding!! Better in theory, than practice!

  • that’s cool. but maybe put a pole to slide down, too? that way it can double as a stripper pole.

  • That’s really cool… but that looks really scary. How is it even being held up?? It can’t be that one little bar!

  • i’d be way too frightened to get on that thing…

  • I’d be too scared to sleep on that thing.  But yes it looks cool.

  • Is there anyway to view the website in english?

  • omg that looks damn scary.  i could never get something like that b/c i’m a toss and turn person while sleeping so i’d defnitely fall over and hurt my myself!

  • you can’t put your parents in that bed when they visit, they’ll refuse to try it, i’m sure!

  • that’s a great idea :) but a little scary… maybe just for storage?

  • Very cool, but not very practical. I would love to have something like that in my apartment and have my desk underneath by bed, but the fear of fallling out of bed or my bed crushing my computer made me change my mind.

  • most Boston frats have lofted beds- many of them are suspended from the ceiling without poles from the ground. They hold up just fine (and you know how frat boys “stress test” their beds.. hehe)

However, I hated sleeping in the loft beds. They require me to think clearly and be coordinated when I’m dead tired and falling asleep, and when I just wake up. Not fun. Plus I hit my head on the ceiling a lot and it’s cramped when you move around (especially with two people).

Another thing0 in the frat lofts, they had extra loft flooring around the bed and outlets high up on the wall. That way, you could still read in bed, have an alarm clock nearby, have your cell phone & charger nearby, etc. The bed in that pic doesn’t seem to have any extra space for those things- it’ll be inconvenient.

  • My boyfriend and I have a queen sized loft bed since we live in a studio and it’s uh.. squeeky.

  • There was a bed similar to this one on our cruise ship, but it came down from the ceiling each nite.  Such a cool bed.

    Thanks for sharing.

  • that looks scary! i’m afraid of heights!

  • that looks totally awesome!

  • I’d be more worried about a spontaneous short in the wiring, sparking an electrical fire. Waking up in the middle of the night to discover you’re on fire is not my idea of fun.
