Washed our sheets today so I needed a brush up tutorial on folding fitted sheets…
How To Fold a Fitted Sheet (via Martha Stewart)

There is a foolproof technique for folding a fitted sheet. These instructions are for a right-handed person; just reverse them if you’re left-handed.
1. Stand holding the sheet by the two adjacent corners of one of the shorter edges (see photo, left). With the sheet inside out, place one hand in each of these two corners.
2. Bring your right hand to your left, and fold the corner in your right hand over the one in your left, enveloping it. Next, reach down and pick up the corner that is hanging in front; bring it up, and fold it over the two corners in your left hand; the corner that’s showing will be inside out.
3. Bring the last corner up, and fold it over the others; with its right side showing, it should envelop the other three corners.
4. Lay the folded sheet on a flat surface, and straighten it into the shape shown.

5. Fold the two edges in so all the elastic is hidden.
6. Fold the sheet into a rectangle.
7. Continue folding until the rectangle is the size you want it to be.

Most of you have probably seen this by now, but if you haven’t, this Japanese t-shirt folding method is pretty amazing.
Here are the written instructions for the Japanese folding method.

Wow. I always wondered how to do this. I have sheets in the laundry right now. I’m going to try this in about ten minutes. Awesome.
is it crazy that i think that is so cool? hahaha
thanks for sharing, I am always impress with the tidiness and neatness of items you present on this page.
i’ve known about that martha stewart sheet method for some time now. we actually fold our fitted sheets that way. this is the first time i’ve seen that japanese t-shirt method before! i’m definitely going to give it a try.
my fitted sheets always looked messy… thanks for sharing
dude i love you for this. a month ago, i took home my gf’s extra sheets we just bought. i had a horrible time trying to find someone to fold it neatly. i ended up just rolling it into folds.
what great tips! I keep repeating the t-shirt clip and still can’t get over how perfectly folded the t-shirt ends up.
Martha Stewart demonstrated the same Japanese t-shirt method on her show. It’s somewhere there in her video clips — at the start of the first season of her newest show. I actually prefer the old fashioned way, because even though it looks all pretty, it falls apart pretty quickly when you try to move the folder shirt to your closet.
This, by far, was my most favorite non-wedding related thing I ever learned from Martha. I impress all my friends with it. Basically, I’m a domestic nerd
