  • I recently bought this Vornado Air Circulator.  I’ve blogged about how much I love my Vornado heater.  Well this is a fine product as well.  Even though it’s small, it’s powerful and quiet!  Our air conditioner is in the bedroom so this sucks the cold air into our living room.

    vornado

Of course you can also use it as a regular fan.

My parents never used to let us turn on the ac because it was a waste of electricity.  Actually our ac broke and it would cost over $10,000 to replace it, so we never did.  My brother and I used to sit in front of a fan and spray water from a spray bottle directly into the fan.  The water would then fly back at us and we had homemade air conditioning

    G-H-E-T-T-O.  Or perhaps sheer brilliance.

  • oo! i think i may have to purchase this. though i don’t know if it can do anything about making the ac in my bedroom make a right and a left to cool my living room… would be nice if it could!

  • $10,000 to replace an ac?! WOW

  • my parents didn’t let us use ac either. when i lived in SF tho there weren’t really that many days where you really needed it, it’s so dry there most of the time. but when i moved to NYC i blasted that sucker 24/7 during july and august… shoot, and a lot in other months too. i remember a couple times my small studio apt’s dinky ol’ AC unit racked up $350 con-edison bill. MAN~~~

  • i just walked in bed, bath & beyond & the vornado was at the door… dang it was powerful :)

  • Vornados are great. I’ve been using them for a while, and once you use a vornado you can’t go back to a normal fan.

I used to do the same ghetto cooler too… except it was when I actually lived in the ghetto. Instead of spraying water though, we’d freeze juice jugs of ice water, put them in front of the fan, and we’d have our ghetto-style AC.

  • i say sheer brilliance!
but then again…i can be ghetto.

  • I’m clueless; does an AC cost 10 grand? Wowza. Water + fan is what we use at the ballpark.
